Time Warner Cable
When Time Warner Cable wanted to build a stronger connection to African-American subscribers, MATTER came up with an idea that was designed to inspire, inform and educate them: a TV talk show. First, we created a :30 spot that invited members of the community to audition to become a host of the show, through video postings on Facebook or live casting call events in four markets. Then we produced the branded eight-episode series, airing exclusively on Time Warner Cable On Demand, which featured prominent African-Americans such as Robert Townsend, Ne-Yo and Kim Fields discussing their personal roads to success and offering insights into how others could achieve their own dreams. The shows also showcased up-and-coming musical, comedic and spoken word talent from the community, giving new artists a first break on national TV. Not only did the show forge a connection between Time Warner Cable and its audience, it also had a positive impact on people’s futures.
