To mark the 40th anniversary of Starbucks, CEO Howard Schultz declared April 2011 the Global Month of Service. Because Starbucks partners and customers are so enthusiastic and service-minded, MATTER helped the beloved coffeehouse chain celebrate with an event that provided a service opportunity as well as recognized the ongoing commitment of giving back to the communities. Partners and customers combined to complete 1,409 projects globally and contribute 156,092 hours of service.  At the same time, we sent Howard on an around-the-globe trip to host town hall-style Partner Forums with Starbucks employees.
